spend tremendous amount of money on their children education.
Even though they do not have enough money for a living, they
are willing to spend money on their children education. English
is a critical subject in Korean children education. High score

The status of teachers in Korean society has been always
high and it is still true. Korean children are very discipline
and listening. They respect their teachers. Parents also show
a lot of respect to the teachers for their effort to educate
their children with inviting the teachers to dinner or giving
them treat. Don't be surprised when you are invited to dinner
or something because it is a Korean culture. |

What Will You Teach As An ESL Teacher?
|
| |
|
As an ESL teacher, you will teach mostly daily conversation
especially listening and speaking. So you do not have to worry
about teaching English in deep. What is important to remember
as a teacher is how you keep the class fun and effective.
Since almost all ESL institutes are private, the students
at the schools tend to move around easily from an institute
to an institute to look for a better teacher (probably a fun
teacher). In order for you to be successful as an ESL teacher
in Korea, you had better keep your classes always fun for
the students. |

English Level of Korean Students? |
| |
|
Quite many Korean students have high knowledge of English
vocabulary. Some university students know a lot of strange
words that you may not be aware of. Sometimes, they embarrass
you asking such hard words. Most of the time the students
embarrass you, it is not on purpose. Don't be embarrassed
when you are in such situations. Even though they have such
strong vocabulary, most of the students do not know how to
use the words properly. They also have a good grammer knowledge,
but they are very poor at listening and speaking. If you really
know how to help the students to improve their listening skills
and speaking skills, that will be your great asset as an ESL
teacher. |
